“I didn’t pay a dime for Sun award” – Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli

Nollywood star Omoni Oboli, who was recently named The Sun Nollywood Personality of the Year 2015, has described the award as “more than a blessing.”
The First Lady producer was speaking while receiving her notification letter from the MD/Editor-in-Chief of the publishing house, Eric Osagie.
“It’s a huge honour and privilege to get an award like this,” Omoni Oboli said.
“So many people called to congratulate me after reading about the award in The Sun newspaper. For me, it’s more than a blessing because, first of all, I don’t know anybody in The Sun.
“I don’t know the Managing Director or even the Entertainment Editor. Out of the blues, I saw my name in the newspaper that I’ve won the Nollywood Personality of The Year Award. It’s so big.
“And I’ve not lobbied or given anybody money for this,” she said.
“It’s an award that’s totally unsolicited. It’s an award that money cannot buy. After the announcement, I was in my house and got a letter informing me officially that I had won.
“Nobody told me anything before the announcement,” she said.
The award ceremony will hold on February 20, 2016 in Lagos.
