Decomposing body of hit-and-run victim litters Lagos road

Witnesses say the body has been lying beside the road for almost two days without any official on hand to attend to its removal.

The corpse of an unidentified man who was allegedly killed by an unknown motorist in Cele Bus stop along Oshodi-Apapa expressway, Lagos is said to have began to decompose.

As at the time of reporting the incident, the police is yet to remove the body from the usually crowded bus stop.

Witnesses say the body has been lying beside the road for almost two days without any official on hand to attend to its removal.

The mental state of the victim is not known, but from his clothing one can decipher that he wasn’t a mad man.

Residents were concerned about the health hazard that the abandoned corpse posed to their environment. Some of them also disclosed that the sight is traumatizing each time they see the man lying there.

They called on the police and LASEMA to swiftly remove the body from the roadside.
