Danger! These 400 guys may spread Lassa fever all over Lagos

They are actually 447 in number. They’re suspected to have been in contact with the three people found with Lassa fever in Lagos State.
One of the three patients, a 51-year-old man, died of Lassa fever at the Mainland Hospital in Yaba, Lagos. His death came last Monday.
The man was in contact with people at Divine Medical Centre, Ikoyi, where he was first admitted. He reportedly got the Lassa virus from a wedding he attended in Edo State last December.
There are two other people currently being treated for Lassa fever. One of them is a 36-year-old woman.

All three patients have come in contact with at least 447 other people whom the Lagos State government said it’s now watching.
“The Ministry has listed 447 contacts of the confirmed cases and 438 of the contacts are currently being monitored,” state health commissioner Jide Idris said.
“We have made available drugs and other materials at our designated facilities; and isolation centres have been prepared to manage suspected and confirmed cases,” he said.
Remember not to self medicate if you see symptoms of Lassa fever. Also remember the government is treating Lassa fever patients free of charge.
