CRUEL! Husband, wife maltreat 13-year-old boy, inflict serious injuries
One Mr Ifeanyi Akpa, an alleged serial child molester, has been arrested and handed to the police in Osubi community in Ebonyi, for subjecting his 13-year-old nephew, Chigozie Ogbu, to severe beating.
Akpa, an indigene of Onicha Igbeze of Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was arrested with his wife, Mrs Ngozi Akpa.
Neighbours and youths in the community had alerted the police that there were several incidents of severe maltreatment and corporal punishment meted on the boy by Akpa and Ngozi, a mother of four.
One eye witness said “Chigozie does all the domestic work in the house, sells pure water during the day and yet they won’t allow the poor boy to have his peace”.
He added that the boy has rounded up his primary education yet they refused to enrol him for secondary school.
Chigozie hasbeen taken to the hospital for proper treatment from the serious injuries inflicted on him.
