Civil servant sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for defrauding deaf and dumb victim of N1m
A civil servant at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Surveying, Mrs Funmi Salako, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment for defrauding a deaf and dumb man of N1million.
Salako, according to the court, conspired with others to defraud Mr. Musibau Ilori by collecting the sum from him sometime in 2014 under the pretence to help him buy two acres of lands along Oyo/Ibadan expressway.
She was said to have already refunded N500,000 out of the money.
The Magistrate court in Ibadan sentenced her to two years imprisonment with an option of N60,000 fine.
The chief magistrate, Mr.Taiwo Oladiran ordered Salako to reimburse the remaining of N500,000 within sixty days or serve her jail term.
