CHILD ABUSE: Grandma “whips grandchildren with hot machete” for “infecting her with HIV”
Emotions run high as three female siblings, aged thirteen, five and three years respectively, divulged how their HIV-positive grandmother allegedly conspired with some persons to whip them with hot machete in a bid to have them confess that they are witches.
The eldest among the three siblings, Imabong revealed how their grandmother branded them witches, saying their grandmother made them confessed what they were not.
“We are not witches, our grandmother made us to confess what we are not. We dropped out of school in 2016 when our mother died; we also lost our father in 2014. We do not belong to any witchcraft world. We are normal children; she made us to sell sachet water before we can eat once a day.
“She is our grandmother, she normally brings people like Uncle Aniekan to punish us with hot machete and he flogged us with it after it had been heated up in fire. They will use it to flog us to confess that we were responsible for her sickness, but we are not.”
Having lost their father in 2014 and mother in 2016, it was learnt that the teenagers hawked sachet water on a daily basis before they would be given food.
