Chelsea Lose To Man City In Sunday EPL Clash

Chelsea Football Club opened their English Premier League campaign with a 0-2 loss to reigning Champions, Man City.
The Blues fell to Haaland and Kovacic’s goals in either half of the Sunday encounter at Stamford Bridge.
Man City started the game in the best way possible through an early goal from their talismanic Striker, Erling Haaland, whose neatly chipped goal in the 18th minute gave City the ascendency.
Chelsea didn’t appear threatened despite going behind and caused City lots of trouble early on with several balls over the top.
The London club will consider themselves unlucky not to restore parity in the first half when Nicolas Jackson scored on the stroke of halftime only to be denied by the Linesman flag for offside.
The second half started more or the same, with Pep Guardiola’s side looking to control the tempo and Chelsea, not causing too many troubles.
Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca, tweaked his personnel and replaced Nkunku with new signing, Pedro Neto.
That change almost produced an instant goal minutes later when Enzo picked out the former, but young Rightback, Rico Lewis, was on hand to clear the ball to safety.

Chelsea maintained the pressure in search for an equalizer and almost did so but for Nicolas Jackson, who fluffed his lines in the 62nd minute with a tame effort at Ederson in the 6yard box.
Man City actually thought they had got a second when Rico Lewis fired into the net after a mix-up between Haaland and Chelsea defender, Colwill, but the goal didn’t stand, Haaland receiving a yellow card instead for a foul on the Englishman.
Man City, then, made Chelsea pay for their missed chances, by going on to score their confidence boosting 2nd of the game in the 85th minute through ex Chelsea player, Kovacic.
The game ended, 2-0 to travelling Man City, with Maresca having a rough welcome to life as a top flight Manager.
