Cameroon and Burkina Faso set for second AFCON 2021 showpiece as they battle for third place

Cameroon lost 3-1 on penalties to Egypt in their semi-final match on Thursday night, even though they were the better side in the game where they had 55% ball possession against the Egyptian side with one shot on target in 120 minutes of play.

As the two West African countries meet at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium for the second time in this year’s tournament, the Indomitable arsLions will not like to walk back home empty-handed as the host. They will likely deploy all the weapons in their arsenal for the game, at least to put a lasting smile on their fans’ faces.
Burkina Faso, 2013 finalists against Nigeria, have been mounting tough opposition to the favourites on the continent since losing their debut final to the Super Eagles in 2013.
The Stallions of Burkina Faso had a bit of a different journey to the AFCON semis. They lost their AFCON opener to host Cameroon, and on Saturday, they’ll be hoping to undo the defeat.
