Cairo erupts after policeman shoots driver dead
The policeman reportedly shot the driver after an argument, Thursday night.
The policeman himself was almost killed in return by a mob of local people, a statement from the Cairo security directorate said.
Hundreds of Egyptians then held demonstrations outside the security directorate.
The security directorate has said the policeman has been arrested.
