Businessman “defrauds victim of N16m over oil vessel promise”

One Charles Ihenetu alongside his company, V-Choice International Company Nigeria Limited, is in EFCC’s nest for allegedly defrauding his victim of N16 million.

Ihenetu allegedly obtained the sum from his victim, with a false promise to deliver an oil vessel, which he claimed was already bound for Ghana.

The victim, Osaduwa Amechi claims he paid N16 million in tranches to Ihenetu, who allegedly disappeared upon receiving the money.

Amechi’s efforts to retrieve his money, according to him, were unsuccessful.

Ihenetu was arraigned before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja on Wednesday.

The EFCC charged him with three counts charge bordering on conspiracy to obtain by false pretence to the tune of N26 million.
