Buhari becomes Trump’s ally, to discuss economic growth, terrorism at the White House
In President Buhari, Donald Trump may have found an ally, as the American president will again meet with Nigeria’s number one citizen to discuss economic growth and fight against terrorism.
Trump is known as a man not with many friends, but Buhari appears to tick his list of ‘favorite persons’.
Buhari, resting in London, is scheduled to meet with Trump in a fortnight – on April 30.
Here’s what the White House said about the meeting: “President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to enhance our strategic partnership and advance our shared priorities: promoting economic growth and reforms, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security, and building on Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in the region.
“The relationship of the United States with Nigeria is deep and strong, and Nigeria’s economic growth, security, and leadership in Africa will advance our mutual prosperity.”
Buhari last met Trump at a Luncheon in honour of selected African heads on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, last September.
