Breaking: Yahya Jammeh agrees to leave The Gambia
Embattled “former” President of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh has reportedly agreed to vacate his seat of power and leave the country.
Jammeh appears to have succumbed to mounting pressures, according to a France 24 reporter who said in a tweet late Friday afternoon that the defiant leader is currently writing a statement in the presence of Guinean officials.
“Guinean officials tell @FRANCE24 that Jammeh currently writing statement where he accepts to leave, in the presence of Guinean officials,” Nicolas Germain tweeted.
