BREAKING: Another Chibok girl found, Nigerian military confirms
Another Chibok girl has been found by Nigerian troops, the military has confirmed.
Reports had earlier identified the Chibok girl as Rakiya Abubakar. She was found with a baby.
She was rescued by troops of 27 Brigade around Alagarno area near Ajigin in Damboa local government area in Borno State. The military, Thursday, confirmed the reports.
Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) Group, which has been pressuring the Nigerian government to rescue the girls from Boko Haram terrorists, had said it was trying to verify the report.
“We are in the process of verifying the news of one of our #ChibokGirls’ return today,” BBOG tweeted.
“It would indeed be delightful if true,” the group said.
Well, according the the Nigerian military, it is true.

The military issued the following statement on the development.
“Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE during investigation of arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorists discovered one of the abducted Chibok School girls, Rakiya Abubkar, with her six months old baby.
“According to preliminary investigation, it was discovered she is the daughter of Abubakar Gali Mulima and Habiba Abubakar of Chibok. She further stated that she was a student of Senior Secondary School Class 3B (SS 3B), before her abduction along with her colleagues on 14th April 2014 by the Boko Haram terrorists.
“Rakiya Abubakar is presently undergoing further medical investigation and would soon be released to the Borno State Government.

In 2014, Boko Haram kidnapped over 200 girls from a school in Chibok, Borno State. Some of the girls were released last year. It’s been almost 1000 days since the girls were abducted. BBOG is preparing to mark it with protests.
