Boy, 11, murders 8-year-old girl for refusing to let him play with puppies

A Tennessee court has found an 11-year-old boy guilty of murdering an 8-year-old girl after she and her sister refused to let him see their puppies.

According to an account of the event written by Judge Dennis Roach, the little boy shot Makayla Dyer dead in October 2015 on the Tennessee trailer park where they both lived.

Makayla and her sister were playing outside and talking to the boy while he sat at his bedroom window of their mobile home.

He then reportedly asked the sisters to go get their puppies. They refused and he went to get a 12-guage shotgun and a BB gun and told the girls he had guns.

Mckayla reportedly laughed at him saying the guns weren’t real.

He “then made certain the gun was loaded, cocked the hammer on the gun and shot the victim just above the heart at a downward trajectory,” the account states.

Last week, he was found guilty of first-degree murder, and sentenced to state custody until he turns 19.

Judge Dennis Roach’s order, poseted online by local television station WATE-TV, directed that the boy be treated and rehabilitated to stop a recurrence of such.

“A child who commits first-degree murder cannot be willy-nilly turned loose into society,” the judge wrote..
