Borno Flood: Emergency Rescue Workers Trapped
The Borno State Emergency Management Agency has cried out after its workers on a rescue mission to the flood areas in Maiduguru are presently trapped.
This disclosure was made by the Director General of the Agency, Barkindo Mohammed, on Tuesday.
This media had, earlier today, reported of how thousands of Borno residents were displaced from their homes following heavy flooding that hit the state.
This comes after the Alau Dam collapsed on Tuesday morning.

While Mohammed had earlier revealed that rescue efforts were underway in Maiduguri, those workers themselves appear to have been trapped in the flood.
“Just now, we went for a rescue and proceeded to distribute sandbags in Gozari.
“As I am talking to you now, I am trapped..We came to rescue some people and we are now trapped with my staff.,” Mohammed revealed.
Neusroom gather that many of the residents are now seeking safe haven by fleeing to neighbouring contries.
The situation is described as a disaster, with many homes lost to the latest flood.
