Boko Haram could’ve raped, killed Chibok girls – Buhari suggests
President Muhammad Buhari has said he would be lying if he claimed knowledge of the whereabouts of the schoolgirls Boko Haram kidnapped from Chibok in 2014.
He also said he’s not sure the girls are alive.
“We’re looking for credible Boko Haram leaders to tell us if the girls are alive and we’ll negotiate with them,” Buhari said during his first presidential media chat on Wednesday.
When pressed to clarify the statement, Buhari said:
We don’t know where the girls are. We don’t know their state of affairs. We have no intelligence on whether they are alive..
