“Why are you blowing your own trumpet?” Twitter user asks police after tweet on how officers saved Akwa-Ibom residents from robbery
The Nigerian police force, previously notorious for ineptitude, seems to have stepped up its game.
When was the last time the police showed up after you called them to respond to a robbery? Forever? Never?
Well, that seems to be changing.
“On 2nd August, 2015 at about 2:00am, Police received a distress call that hoodlums were operating at EkitItam village Uyo,” the police said, Sunday.
“Patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene where one of the suspects (male) was arrested with two stolen laptops and a Plasma TV.”
“Efforts to apprehend other gang members that fled the scene are been intensified. State CIID Uyo is investigating.”
Isn’t that impressive?
Someone thinks it’s not and went ahead to ask why…and the police gave a reply.
