Bayelsa’s N689bn 2025 Budget Signed Into Law by Governor Diri
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Daniel Alabrah, revealed this in a statement released on Monday.
The Governor had, on October 31, presented the bill worth N689.4 billion to the House of Assembly.
The bill was later raised by N10.1 billion to N699.7 billion.
“This budget, tagged the ‘Budget of Assured Prosperity,’ reflects our administration’s unwavering commitment to transparency, good governance, and improving the quality of life for our people,” the Governor said.
Diri thanked the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, and the lawmakers for passing the bill swiftly.

“Your leadership speaks volumes. The House has been diligent and prolific in its work. The timely passage of the budget is a testament to your dedication to Bayelsa State,” he said.
The Governor stressed that proposals by ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in the state must be in line with the budget just approved.
“We have prioritized critical sectors that will enhance the quality of life of our people. Every project under this budget must have a tangible impact on the lives of Bayelsans,” Diri said.
In his reaction, Speaker, Abraham Ingobere, said that the budget went through due process before its approval.
On the 1.5% increase, he explained that this will help boost the state’s economy.
“The 2025 budget has the potential to significantly transform Bayelsa’s economy if properly implemented. Our adjustments were made in the best interest of the state,” the Speaker said.
