ATM card thief duping bank customers arrested in Anambra
An alleged fraudster switching unsuspecting victims’ bank cards to wipe out their accounts has been arrested in Anambra.
The 30-year-old suspect, Obinna Okafor, was arrested on November, 20, in Nnewi, at an Access Bank branch. He allegedly specialised in baiting bank customers at Automated Teller Machine points under the guise of rendering assistance.
Okafor would swap his victims’ ATM cards with other stolen cards in his possession, before proceeding to withdraw their monies.
He was caught in possession of eight different ATM cards suspected to have been stolen from some of his victims and the sum of N120,000 which he had withdrawn from a victim’s account.
