Army arrests 7 suspects involved in herdsmen attacks in Plateau
The Nigerian Army have arrested 7 suspects and recovered weapons in the clash between Miango community and herdsmen at Rafiki Village in Jos, Plateau State.
The troops responded to distress calls by locals and arrested the suspects on Wednesday.
Two soldiers were killed as herdsmen opened fire on the troops during their attempt to settle the dispute.
Two other soldiers were wounded and are responding to treatment at the hospital.
While conducting search, troops discovered 23 dead bodies at Mararaba Dare shortly before Rafiki Village and many civilians were wounded.
Weapons recovered include one Ak 47 assault rifle with 26 rounds of ammunition and one locally made single barrel loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.
The clash between herdsmen and locals in the Jos communities continue, despite President Buhari’s visit to the state last Friday.
