Apprentice, 18, squanders boss’ N500,000 on women after faking kidnap in Ogun
Desperation to make quick bucks and live large has landed Adeboye Michael in trouble with the police in Ogun.
The 18-year-old apprentice, according to the police, schemed his won kidnap with two of his friends, Nafiu Ojo and Abdullahi Lawal, with the aim of becoming a million naira rich.
Police say Michael’s boss, Oluwoju Ojo Abiodun, had reported that he sent him to the bank to make a deposit of N500,000 sum, but instead received a phone call informing him of the boy’s abduction.
Michael’s purported abductors had requested for an extra N500,000 ransom, with claims that they they had already collected the N500,000 he was supposed to deposit at the bank.
Michael, police say, would later appear out of blue, with fabricated narration of his fake abduction.
Police later tracked down Ojo and Lawal in connection to the crime, and they confessed that Michael had indeed contracted them to play the part. Their confession led to Michael’s arrest.
In a bizarre confession, Michael reportedly said he lodged two girls in a hotel to enjoy the money.
Police say only N120,000 out of the N500,000 was left with him at the time of his arrest.
