Another year, another opportunity for entertainment industry as Nigerian Entertainment Conference returns

President Muhammadu Buhari’s four year reign as Nigeria’s democratic President is set to end May 29 – though he could be granted another opportunity to lead the country for another four years on Saturday.

Since Buhari assumed office in 2015, a year optimism for a ‘new Nigeria’ reigned supreme, youths in the country have expressed mixed feelings about the opportunities provided to live comfortably.

Unemployment, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), has risen to 23.1% in the last quarter of 2018 from 18.8 per cent in the third quarter of 2017.

The entertainment industry remains one of the few industries that have shown huge promise, serving as a beacon of hope for young and old talents to survive the harsh realities of life in Nigeria.

In fact, it has been reported to have grown to an $8 billion industry – an impressive upscale from an industry that was built from nothing by numerous icons and revolutionaries.

But it remains ever evolving, with new trends being birthed at an impressive rate. And it continues to be a money spinner.

The future of the industry couldn’t look more bright. There are always new ways of achieving greatness, particularly with the advent of new technologies, data and trends.

But there are questions… which the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (@neclive), with the assistance of industry experts and trend setters, always aims to provide answers to.
