The traffic congestion on Lagos roads due to indiscriminate parking of articulated vehicles, and the dangers associated with them, continue to frustrate residents.

The government has not found lasting solutions to the concerns being raised daily by citizens of the state.

A frustrated motorist, Lola, narrated her ordeal between Iponrin and Costain area of the state today.

“Just when you think it can’t get worse, this is what you will find after spending almost 2hrs between Iponrin and Costain; trailers double parked at major intersections without regard for other road users.

“In case you don’t know, Iponrin to Costain ought to be a 3 minutes drive.

“Months ago, when trailers were always parked on one side of the road and the roads were even better, I though using Ikorodu road through Eko bridge to CMS was a nightmare. With what now looks like a trailer invasion from hell with these trailers double parked on both sides of d road, I am simply lost for words.

“It’s as if each time the government makes one of its empty threats that trailer owners should remove their trailers from the road, the trailer drivers feel the need to remind us all who is actually running Lagos by sealing off roads and intersections thereby increasing traffic hardship threefold!

“@akinwunmiambode, this is your legacy. You have failed us.”

Governor Ambode’s tenure comes to an end next May, but observers say he appears to have given up on work across the state, since it was announced he won’t be running for second term in 2019.
