Ambode swears in Adekunle Gold’s father, 5 others as new Permanent Secretaries
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday (today) swore in six new Permanent Secretaries in Lagos.
Among the new appointees is singer Adekunle Gold’s father, Mr. Adeyemi Kosoko, who was given the role of Permanent Secretary of Education (District IV).
In celebration of his father’s feat, the singer recounted how he dedicated his life to public service and sacrificed so much for the family.
“He has given so much of himself, and truly values the opportunity to be serving the government and every school he’s worked at as either teacher, VP or principal,” a proud Gold said.
“He’s won about 30 awards for his selfless service to the state. My dad.
“His dream has always been to become a Permanent Secretary of Lagos state. It was his dream, it was also mine for him.
In this moment, this 56-year-old brilliant man’s dream is now his reality,” he added.
A former Executive Secretary, Land Use and Allocation Committee and more recently, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, was also sworn in as the 21st Head of Service in Lagos.
Other appointees are: Dr. Titilayo Goncalves (Ministry of Health); Dr. Sherifat Balogun (Ministry of Youth and Social Development); Segun Adeniji (Health Service Commission); Mrs. Abosede Adelaja (Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture); and Dr. Lateef Lawal (Primary Healthcare Board).
Ambode urged the new appointees to inject fresh ideas to improve service delivery in the state.
