ALAT Set to Empower Young Nigerians on Business Strategy, Technology and Branding
Nigeria’s first digital bank, ALAT by Wema, will host the second virtual session of its ALAT Talk Series on Thursday, August 26, 2021, on teleconferencing software, Zoom. The Talk Series themed ‘Developing and Sustaining the Startups of the Future’ is targeted at young Nigerian professionals and business owners.
The talk series is geared towards providing young Nigerians with valuable information and the necessary skills to build and manage businesses and startups.
The first edition featured industry experts like Tosin Olaseinde who is the founder of Money Africa, Olusegun Adeniyi, Chief Digital Officer of Wema Bank and Sisi Yemmie, content creator and vlogger in its first session.
The second session will feature thought leaders and experts who have had decades of experience across the business and tech industry and will educate participants on key areas in business branding, strategy, and management.
Femi Akinfolarin, Head Corporate Strategy, Wema Bank, who has over 10 years of industry experience, will speak on ‘how tech can help small businesses improve customer experience’.
Tomiwa Aladekomo, CEO of Big Cabal Media and Adaora Mbelu, Founder, Lumination Global Network will join Akinfolarin as guest speakers. Aladekomo will discuss the ‘biggest challenges facing the African technology ecosystem’ and Mbelu will speak on ‘brand positioning as a growth strategy in startup-land.’
The Talk Series is one of the many initiatives ALAT continually introduces to show support to young Nigerians across the country. The bank is also sponsoring various youth-friendly initiatives, including a partnership with SociaLiga and the social media series, #ALATFoodChallenge.
The bank has won numerous awards, such as the Best Digital Bank and Best Mobile App in Nigeria at the 2017 World Finance Awards; Best Digital Bank in Africa at the 2018 Asian Banker Awards, amongst many others.
