Ajimobi inaugurates housing estate, says predecessors were parochial
Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, over the weekend, inaugurated the first phase of a Housing Estate in Ibadan.
The estate, Olive Court, is located at Agodi GRA and is expected to accomodate 45 duplexes. Only 15 have been completed in this first phase.
The project is a partnership between the state government and UPDC, a subsidiary of United African Company (UAC).
Speaking at the ceremony, Ajimobi took a swipe at his predecessors saying they sold off choice government at giveaway prices to satisfy alleged narrow and parochial interests.
“This is very unfortunate. Even the large expanse of land used for the construction of this estate had only four houses designated as Governor’s Guest Houses. How many guests are a governor expected to have that will occupy four houses?.
