Access Bank and Dangote are forming a coalition to combat COVID-19
At a time when all hands are needed on deck to jointly fight the deadly COVID-19, organisations in Nigeria are not shying away from responsibility.
Access Bank Plc and the Aliko Dangote Foundation have taken a collaborative effort by creating the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) to mobilize other key players in the private sector to support government’s effort and those on the front lines of fighting the pandemic.
President of Dangote Industries Limited, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Managing Director, Access Bank Group, Herbert Wigwe, are spearheading the coalition.
Separate statements by Access Bank and Dangote said the initiative will enhance the erection of fully-equipped 1,000-bed medical tents to house patients and serve as training, testing, isolation and treatment centres.
The following are other things the coalition will be doing:
1. CACOVID will also providing an additional facility on Victoria Island, Lagos.
2. The centers will be fully equipped with medical supplies and trained personnel to cater for anyone who may become affected by COVID-19.
3. CACOVID will bring in experts from around the world to provide technical and training support.
4. The coalition will be creating awareness and directing support to private and public healthcare institutions.
