Eight Yaba College of Technology students were arraigned before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, over allegations that they were members of Eiye cult group.

Police Prosecutor, Lucky Ihiehie, identified the suspects as Ogunyemi Oluwayosi, 19; Samuel Irikefe, 17; Godwin Etim, 23; Lawal Ahmed, 23; Abayomi Badmus, 24; Benedict Isichie, 18; Chiemeka Oluwaseyi, 21; and Promise Agbogwu, 20.

The prosecutor also alleged that the suspects were arrested with charms. He said they faced a three-count charge of stealing, conspiracy and belonging to a secret cult, which is against the law.

The suspects, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. They were granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each.
