5 ways you can support the #SARSMustEnd Protest
It’s been one week of growing rage and protests across Nigeria over the atrocities of SARS.
Young Nigerians who are tired of the harassment have taken the conversation to the streets after 3 years of trending hashtags.
Here’s how you can support the #SARSMustEnd protest:
1. Show Social Media Solidarity
The online campaign has been the most effective way of calling global attention to the movement but the messages needs to be amplified to those who are not on Twitter, share the messages to your WhatsApp and other social media contacts.
2. Join a Protest in your neighborhood
People gain strength from numbers. Now that the protest has been taken offline, wherever you are, there is a protest venue, show up at the rallies to encourage others.
3. Donate and Volunteer
If you can’t be part of the street protest, you can donate funds to the movement or volunteer to take meals, water and other edibles to those attending the rallies.
4. Take it Offline
The message needs to be taken to the grassroots to those who are not aware of what is happening on social media.
Amplify the message by educating people in the grassroots, and let them know why it concerns them.
