4-year-old girl burnt to death as fire razes Deeper Life church

Barely 24 hours after Mrs. Elizabeth Paul celebrated New Year’s Day with high hopes for a favourable 2016; a tragedy she probably would not wish for her enemies struck.

Fire broke out where she lived around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and was not put our until after midnight.

But before the flames were extinguished, they had killed someone dear to her.

Favour, Mrs. Paul’s 4-year-old girl is dead. She was consumed by the inferno which razed their house located at 16, Makro Street, Warri, in Delta State.

The fire also razed a Deeper life Bible Church located near their house. It also burned down a school and destroyed a poultry.

At least seven families are now displaced as a result of the tragedy, reports say.

Victims of the tragedy who escaped with their lives said the accident was probably caused by fire from a candle carelessly left somewhere in the house.

Here’s what Emmanuel Nwodo, who lost his poultry farm to the inferno, told Vanguard about the deadly accident:

It started from my neighbour’s place.

We were  inside my room when I heard ‘fire, fire’. And before I could come out, the fire was already raging.

Maybe they left candle on and slept off and the candle just sparked big fire.

That was just how the fire burnt everywhere. A little child of about four years was burnt to death. Her name is Favour…a very innocent girl but they could not rescue her.
