25-year-old man commits suicide in Awka
Shola Abisola, a 25-year-old man resident in Akwa, the Anambra State capital has reportedly committed suicide in his room.
The deceased, an indigene of Ikogbo in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun State, was reportedly found unconscious in his room after taking a poisonous substance.
According to reports, Abisola was rushed to Amaku Teaching Hospital for treatment where he was certified dead.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, while confirming the incident said the body has been taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
He said “One Sunday Ozoemene ‘m’ of No. 33. Chime Street Awka, reported at the Central Police Station Awka, at about 4:30 p.m, one Shola Abisola, male aged 25 years, allegedly drank a chemical substance labelled ‘Sniper’ and was found lying unconscious in his room.”
It was reported that during a visit by police detectives attached to Central Police Station Awka, some items including photograph were recovered at the scene.
The case was being investigated to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.
