15 farmers reportedly killed as suspected herdsmen strike Benue again

Issues surrounding Fulani herdsmen and their excesses remain a national discourse with many believing President Muhammadu Buhari is being complicit.

When some men, believed to be Fulani herdsmen stormed a village in Benue state, Monday morning, about 15 Tiv peasant farmers were killed, reports say.

But Police in the state, confirming the incident, said only one person was killed.

One other person is missing while two persons sustained injuries, police say.

The attack on Gaambe-Tieve, Logo LGA of Benue state took place at about 7:30 a.m., multiple sources said.

A state lawmaker, representing Logo constituency, affirmed that many people lost their lives. He however could not confirm the exact figure.
