July 13, 2018
At least 12 persons have been confirmed injured as two tankers exploded outside Egypt’s Cairo International Airport on Thursday night.
It was gathered that the air traffic was not affected.
Security sources told the state-run MENA news agency that the blast occurred in Cairo’s heliopolis district.
The two tanks belong to a petrochemical company, Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Younis al-Masri said in a statement.
He said all domestic and international flights have been operating normally.
The minister added that the explosion was caused by high temperature and the fire was under control.
