“You don’t need faith in God to make it in life” – Pastor Sunday Adelaja
“I’m not afraid of being accused of blasphemy,” controversial Nigerian pastor Sunday Adelaja said as he dropped what he called “truth you must know” during a Facebook Live session on Tuesday.
“To reign in life, you need more faith in yourself than in God,” Adelaja said.
He explained that many Christians are not successful today because the only thing they have going is their religious beliefs.
“So many Christians are wasting their lives in the churches today. Even what they believe about God is wrong. But they don’t know that God will not manipulate anyone into believing in Him before making the earth work for them.
“Unbelievers have invented great things that work for everyone. Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg is an atheist but he’s making it here on earth. Thomas Edison, the man who gave you electricity was an atheist and he discovered something that everyone is using today.”
As Adelaja spoke on, he seemed at the verge of tears when he urged his viewers: “Don’t waste your days in the churches, in religious activities without making your life count…without doing something meaningful with your life”.

The pastor had earlier launched into tongue-speaking prayer session at the beginning of the broadcast during which he prayed God would open the eyes of Christians and save them from religion.
Adelaja noted that there’s the place of faith in God without which, according to him, no one could enter heaven. But he said becoming successful in life has nothing to do with believing in God.
He said God, being a person of integrity would not manipulate anyone into believing in him before they could succeed.
Adelaja said God had to make Moses of the Bible believe in himself before sending him to the Egyptian Pharaoh.
He added that Christians have an edge over the rest of the world to do much more than unbelievers are doing on earth.
“I am going to invent something greater that Facebook,” Adelaja said. “Something even greater than Google because as a Christian I have an advantage over their owners. You remember that. I’ve already invented something that is going to be greater than Facebook and Google I just need some time.”
Some of Adelaja’s viewers praised the pastor’s comments while others dismissed it as “the philosophy of men” the Bible warns about.
Moments after mentioning Mark Zukerberg’s name, the broadcast ended without warning and without Adelaja signing off. We don’t no why.
