Yes we Kante! Chelsea steals Leicester midfielder
Last season’s English Premier League winner N’Golo Kante, 25, has joined Chelsea Football Club.
Kante’s former club, Leicester City, stole the EPL trophy from Chelsea as the Blues finished 10th in what was a very disappointing season.
In a bid to shake off their woes, Chelsea — having fired Jose’s Mourinho, and let go of caretaker coach Guus Hiddink — appointed former Juventus and Italy boss Antonio Conte to bring back the good times.
Kante is Conte’s second addition to the squad for the coming season
The Italian manager “stole” the Frenchman from Leicester for a fee believed to be in the region of £30 million.
Everyone says it’s a good deal judging by the accolades that trail Kante’s performance for Leicester last season.
Kante’s switch to Stamford Bridge trails Michy Batshuayi’s move to the same stadium from the French League.
“I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe,” Kante said after completing the move.
“It’s a dream come true for me. The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.
“My first season in English football was very special and now I hope to go on to achieve even more during my time as a Chelsea player.
“I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and helping the club achieve a lot of success,” he said.
