WhatsApp love: Graduate “blackmails” teen for sex, she accuses him of rape in return

An initial case of rape has turned out to be a tit-for-tat tale.
Gbemisola, 19, had, last week, alleged that a university graduate, Kunle, raped her and later blackmailed her, threatening to release her nude photos if she refused to send him money.
She said she had given him money twice before refusing to the third time, and that Kunle, 24, made good on his threat to release her nude pictures.
In response Kunle denied the allegation while claiming that he was in a relationship with the girl.
He also denied circulating her nude pictures, which he claimed the girl sent to him on his request.
But the case took a different dimension after both parties were grilled by men of the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.
Gbemisola now claims to have framed Kunle to punish him.
She told Punch that she wanted to punish him for betraying her trust and sharing her nude pictures with his friends and family members on the Internet, adding that some of his friends had been calling to demand “their own share of sex.”
She said:
He is my boyfriend and we had dated for just one week when he asked for my nude pictures. When two people are dating and they are in love, anything can happen between them.
Initially, I declined and he started begging me. I asked him to swear on oath that he would later delete the pictures from his phone and he did. I sent the pictures because of the trust I had in him.
He didn’t rape me, but I gave in because he begged, saying it had been long since he did it.
However, her allegations about the blackmail that followed the sexual incident have not changed.
Police say both parties had agreed that the intercourse they had was consensual and could not have amounted to rape and that investigations into other aspects of the allegations were still ongoing..
