“What I told my wife after Fulani men stabbed me in Kogi” – Dangote employee
After being stabbed by suspected Fulani attackers, a Nigerian father of two fears he may die from poisoning.
Isaac Udoh was driving to work on Thursday when suspected Fulani tribesmen aimed their gun at him.

“I stopped a while then reversed the car and ran, it was the battle of my life,” he wrote on Facebook after surviving the seemingly unprovoked attack.
“In the process, one of the Fulani men used his long stick with knife to stab me on my right hand. I ran to road safety office to get first aid treatment.
“Thank God for the doctors and nurses that were at the federal road safety office at Kabba Junction who gave me a comprehensive treatment. I had five stitches on my right hand.
“I heard Fulanis use poisonous knives so I have taken tetanus injection but I still fear the poison in their knife could harm me.
“I used to have regard for Fulanis but my respect for them ceased as they commit most of these atrocities on highways.”

Udoh, a Dangote Cement employee, said the attack occurred along Obajana-Kabba road in Kogi State. He said Fulani men usually attack motorists along the road.
“The place is prone to attack like every 10 minutes,” he told NewsroomNG on Saturday. “Another attack happened yesterday (Friday) on that same spot.”
The married father of two was driving to the office in Lokoja, state capital.
We asked Udoh how his family reacted to the terrible incident.
“I played down the issue with her because I didn’t want my family to get very upset,” he said.
He said he reported the incident to his employers who promised to take necessary security measures. He didn’t indicate whether or not he was able to report to the police.
As at the time of publishing this post, Udoh was still receiving medical treatment. He said the police needed to check the activities of attackers at the junction.
“I didn’t see any cows with them so I doubt they were herdsmen,” he said. “But I’m sure they’re Fulanis.”
