A displeased traveller has lamented the dreadful state of the public toilet at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, just as Nigerian music icon Tuface Idibia directed jabs at Nigerian politicians over his airport experience in Ghana on Thursday.

Tuface marveled at the magnificence of the Accra International Airport during his time there, saying that same experience was not applicable to airports in Nigeria.

“Shame no dey catch some people,” he said in pidgin, obviously as a dig at his country’s government.

A recent visitor to the Abuja airport told Neusroom how travellers are left to loiter around while awaiting their flights.

A $101.1 million contract was signed by the Abuja Gateway Consortium in 2006 for the management of the airport over the next 25 years (until 2031), but it was revoked during the Yar’Adua administration in 2008.

Several clips of a leaking roof at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos during the rains also made media rounds earlier in the year.
