WATCH: Portuguese teacher falls to death while taking selfie on balcony
A lady’s desire to take a perfect selfie led to her death as she fell from the 27th floor of a building in Panama last Friday.
The 27-year-old mother of two, Sandra Manuela Da Costa Macedo, was sitting on the balcony and taking pictures when she tumbled over and fell.
The tragic incident was caught on camera. An onlooker filming the tragedy shouted: “She’s mad, there she goes, look at her, look at her, she’s fallen.”
Sandra, a Portuguese, was said to be working in the city as a teacher.
Reports say construction workers in the area had warned her to get off the balcony, but suspected she did not hear due to the strong winds.
Authorities are investigating the incident, but suspect that the strong wind may have knocked her off.
“Don’t risk your life for a selfie. It’s more important to lose a minute in life than your life in a minute,” Panama’s Fire Service said on its Twitter after the tragedy.
