WATCH: “It’s a big shame!” – Drivers, commuters lament as fallen container causes gridlock on Oshodi-Apapa expressway
A fallen container is currently causing traffic gridlock at Cele bus stop, Oshodi-Apapa expressway.
Drivers and commuters have complained that no rescue operators have arrived the scene to get the container off the road.
A driver tells Neusroom it’s a “big shame” that no towing truck was at the scene since the container fell to commence evacuation.
Many students going to school, people going to work and their other places of business have been stuck. Many have begun to trek.
The container trucks on the axis have been a menace in recent time, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s directive about three months ago that an immediate solution be found has so far not been effective.
Several other parts of Lagos are experiencing similar traffic problems, and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode appears to be asleep. Lagosians are desperate for a lasting solution.
