WATCH: Garki hospital needed Google to treat corps member shot by policeman
Doctors at the Garki hospital in Abuja, where late youth corps member Angela Igwetu was rushed after she was shot by a policeman, attempted to use Google to search for alternative ways of treating her gunshot wound, an investigative panel has found out.
The panel found out that the hospital couldn’t immediately provide a chest tube and other equipment required to carry out an emergency treatment on Angela.
A police DPO eventually made provision for the chest tube, but the doctors needed to browse the internet to determine how to improvise with the underwater seal.
Angela was returning from work with some of her colleagues around 3am a day before her POP when she was hit by a bullet fired by an officer identified as Benjamin. She died hours later at the Garki hospital.
Investigations are still ongoing by the panel.
