WATCH: Aftermath of Boko Haram attack on IDP Camp in Maiduguri, 8 killed

At least eight people were killed when Boko Haram insurgents attacked the Dolori 2 IDP camp, Maiduguri, Wednesday night.

The insurgents were said to have arrived the camp on Hilux and motorbikes through a bush part. They ransacked a market in front of the camp and set it on fire. They also attacked four surrounding communities in the Borno capital.

The Nigerian Army had said in a statement that it successfully repelled the attack and only one person was killed, but a statement by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Thursday confirmed that eight people were killed and many were injured in the attack.

“Six people from Kofa village were killed as a result of suspected Boko Haram terrorists that attacked four villages in outskirts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital,” NEMA coordinator in the North East, Bashir Garga, said.
