WATCH: After taking N1,000 bribe, LASTMA officer winks at colleague to free arrested driver
Two officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) where, on Friday, caught breaking the law.
After taking N1,000 bribe from a commercial bus driver the couple claimed committed a traffic offence, one of the LASTMA officers signaled to his colleague to allow driver go.
A passenger caught the moment on phone and sent the video to NewsroomNG. Scroll down to watch it.
The colleague was seated in the driver’s seat while the signaling officer negotiated with the driver and his conductor.
All the while, passengers who were going to work, were kept waiting.
The incident happened near Anthony Bus Stop along Ikorodu expressway in Lagos around 9am on Friday.
The driver was alleged to have, earlier in the day, committed an offence for which he wasn’t arrested.
Instead of impounding the vehicle, the LASTMA officers compelled the driver to “settle the boys”.
