Video: Two die in Lagos fuel tanker explosion

A tanker explosion at Cele area on Apapa-Oshodi Expresssway in Lagos has left two people dead, authorities have confirmed.
The tanker, baring 33,000 litres of fuel, reportedly ran into a stationary truck around 5:00pm leading to an explosion.
Its driver and an unidentified boy were caught in the inferno that followed.
The spilled content of the tanker spread through drainage to the nearby market, gutting parts of it. A taxi car packed by the side of the road was also burnt.
General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Michael Akindele confirmed that two people had died as a result of the explosion, saying that effort was on to combat the fire.
Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe said six fire trucks had been mobilized to combat the fire.
Fadipe, however, said the fire was put out around 7:40pm.
Several shops in the area were said to have been burnt in the incident
