UNILAG final year student returning from Pharmacy killed by suspected drug dealers

A senior member of staff of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Akintunde Fadugba and a final year student of the institution, Rasaq Akokia have lost their lives in an attack on Friday.

The attack which led to the death of Fadugba of Centre for Information and Technology System, UNILAG, and the 400-level student, have since caused panic in Abule Ijesha community, Yaba, Lagos State.

It was gathered that some suspected hoodlums, numbering six and led by a drug dealer stormed the community on motorcycles and shot indiscriminately.

Fadugba was hit by a bullet while relaxing in front of a barber’s shop close to his residence.

Akokia was said to be ill and was returning from the the pharmacy he had gone to buy drugs when he was also hit in the chest by a stray bullet.

Residents of the area, however, claimed the neighbourhood is not safe until the police arrest the hoodlums who killed the duo.

The mastermind of the crime, according to the residents, was a drug dealer known to the police. They demanded that he and his accomplices be apprehended and prosecuted.
