Two reportedly injured as Somali passenger plane catches fire mid-air
The plane caught fire about 20 minutes after it took off from Mogasihu airport in Somalia and was forced to return.
CCTV-Africa quotes a Daallo Airlines representative Abdinasir Nur as saying two of the 74 people on board were injured, one of them seriously.
However, AP and Reuters, quoting the pilot, reports that one person was sucked out of the plane.
A passenger recalls that the aircraft which was headed to Djibouti “was in the air for about 20 minutes … when we heard a loud explosion inside the plane, followed by flames that lit up one side of it”.
The plane returned to the airport and made an emergency landing..
