Two policemen killed as robbers attack CBN bullion vans
Armed robbers attacked a convoy of bullion vans belonging to the Central Bank Nigeria, Tuesday morning, killing two policemen in the process.
The convoy was headed to Abuja after leaving Jos early Tuesday.
The robbers, reportedly dressed in military uniforms, had attacked a Plateau State security outfit attached to Riyom local government when the convoy ran into them.
The robbers then engaged the armed mobile policemen in the convoy. One Sgt. Anthony Jawa from Mobile Police Squad (MOPOL) 8, Jos was killed in the process.
A second mobile policeman had been killed before the convoy arrived the scene of the attack.
Plateau police spokesman, ASP Tyopev Terna, confirming the incident, said he was yet to receive the full report from the Riyom Divisional Police Station.
He said he could not confirm the number of policement killed in the attack..
