Trump to Hamas: Free Hostages Now or ‘There Will Be Hell to Pay’

From 'Shithole Countries' to 'Such Good English': Why Trump’s Words About Africa Can’t Be Dismissed as Mistakes

In a strongly worded message posted on Truth Social, President Donald J. Trump demanded that Hamas immediately release all hostages and return the bodies of those killed, warning of severe repercussions if his demands are not met.

He declared, “Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you.”

He continued; “Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted.”

This ultimatum follows unprecedented direct negotiations between U.S. officials and Hamas, aiming to secure the release of American hostages and extend the fragile ceasefire in Gaza, after the group, which Washington designates as terrorist organisations, said in early February that it was postponing the next scheduled release of Israeli hostages. The U.S. envoy, Adam Boehler, has been engaging with Hamas representatives in Qatar, according to the New York Times.

President Trump emphasised his unwavering support for Israel, stating, “I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job; not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say.”

He also addressed the people of Gaza, suggesting a “beautiful future awaits” if they release the hostages but warned, “If you do, you are DEAD!”

“Make a smart decision. Release the hostages now, or there will be hell to pay later,” the President warned.
