TRAGIC! Customs officers kill man, 27, in front of father’s shop in Katsina

Operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, have allegedly shot a man dead in front of his father’s shop in Katsina.

The deceased identified as 27-year-old Aminu Abdulaziz, 27, was said to have been hit by a stray bullet by customs men who intercepted some men with bags of suspected smuggled rice.

The operatives, after impounding the rice and the vehicle, reportedly opened gunfire to ward off any reprisal from the smugglers.

Abdulaziz, a native of Daddara village, in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina, was hit in the process.

“He died on the way to a hospital,” a source said.
