TRAGIC: 2 motorcycle riders die during stunt display, while escorting corpse from mortuary
Two motorcycle riders tragically lost their lives in Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State on Friday due to reckless riding.
The riders were said to have collided while accompanying a corpse home from a mortuary for interment.
Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred when the motorcyclists, accompanying the corpse of one Mr George Eke, began to display stunts as a way of celebrating the dead.
“As we were coming home, some motorcyclists who had followed us to the morgue started the ‘traditional’ display of expertise with their motorcycles as a way of celebrating the dead,” a witness told Southern City News.
They collided and died instantly just a few metres away from the deceased’s home.
